Jayce’s world is a balance between creativity and technology. They are integral to each
other. His love for music started early with piano lessons at five years old. He also found himself surrounded with gadgetry and technology from the beginning. His father, once an engineer for the Grand Ole Opry, a ham radio operator and kit computer aficionado, Jayce naturally became a “Gear Head”. Throughout his school years, he learned to play several instruments and since buying his first 4-track recorder at 13, Jayce has been “integrating” media for more than 20 years. |

| He went on to attend Columbia College in Chicago and earned a degree in Sound
Engineering. Landing in Los Angeles, Jayce was able to parley his computer savvy into years of IT support and departmental management experience while developing his musical endeavors. |
| As an early adopter of DAW technology Jayce built his project studio and founded
Napping Monk Productions. Experimenting with a variety of components gave him a constant supply of integration opportunities. He was on a first name basis with several different manufacture support teams often guiding them to a resolution. He quickly found himself busy building or optimizing PCs for other engineers and producers. |
| With a passion for the art of recording; Jayce uses the NMP project studio like an instrument
to develop his own vision as well as a vehicle to collaborate with other artists. Releasing his independent projects under his performance moniker, Jason Roe, he has sold music worldwide and gained a loyal local following as well as the attention of indie radio. Most notably, KCRW, the L.A. based radio station known for breaking emerging artists. |
| While pursuing perfection with his projects he began working with DMT (Digital Music
Technologies). Jayce spent the last few years as Operations Manager of the high-end equipment rental and services company that supplies converters, hard disk recorders and DAWs for major label records, major motion picture scoring & post production. Excelling in the demanding high profile and high-pressure environment, he quickly brought his foresight to the importance of the growing DAW market and also created the 3-in-1 Workstation. Technically Jayce specialized in system integration, DAW operation, optimization and support. While benchmarking and conducting bleeding edge testing, he became looked to in the industry for solutions where the manufacture themselves fell short or collided with other components. His personal mission was to push the technology and find its limitations. His efforts garnered press in Billboard Magazine and several other industry publications. |
| In 2004, Jayce co-founded OBEDIA, the premier provider of professional technical
expertise to digital media artists in the music and pro audio community. OBEDIA provides expert technical services to the pro audio community, including consultations, systems integration and installations, maintenance contracts, prepaid service packages and technical support. OBEDIA supports all the major products in the computer music recording market. |
