• Breaking – Song #10 for this project

Check out my latest tune, “Breaking”. Its a dark little diddy to be sure. Tell me what fictional characters this song conjures up when you listen and then I’ll reveal the inspiration for it.

Ok – definitely got sidetracked there but I’m back. Only 3 more songs to complete this project.  For Be in the Now I tried some new mic’ing techniques on this one and really like how the lead vox turned out. Also made a slight change to the chorus melody with a happy accident that turned out to be a keeper.

  • Soul Song (redux) – this weeks tune.

This weeks song is a redux of Soul Song – which originally appeared on my debut recording. This time its a little more up tempo with some instrumentation and I’m joined once again by the amazing vocalist Jen Crowe. The art work is by: Nevit Dilmen

  • Reach – for the first song of 2010 – enjoy and share!

This weeks song Reach. Back from a brief break. The artwork is an original photograph of my twelve-string guitar that I used to record this song. It has a drawing of “The Man in the Maze” from the  Tohono O’odom tribe in Arizona on it. To me represents life’s journey and a lot of what I write about.

  • Inside – this weeks free dowload

    Inside - Song Art

Inside features the incredibly talented Jen Crowe. Some of you may have caught us when we were doing a weekly show at Genghis Cohen. We recorded this song as well as a updated version of Soul Song (will be released too). Jen and I plan to record the acoustic versions from the set we did.

The Song Art this week comes from U.K artist: Joe Sutherland. I chose it because fractals are inward and infinite. Like the complexity of relationships which this song is about.

  • Lyrics now being added

Per request I will start posting the lyrics. Starting today with Amen form my debut recording.

  • Amen

    Amen

    I often feel a breeze
It sends me back to when
    My lover’s sent I breath
    Saying Amen
    Say Amen

    Let your worries fly away
She says they don’t have wings
    Well don’t you hurry
Love will bring you home to me
    Amen

    I often feel a breeze
It sends me back to when
    My lover’s lips I feel
    Pressed against my skin
    Say Amen.

  • How Can it Be? – new download of the week

    howcanitbe_thmb

How Can it Be – The Department of Redundancy Department called…again.

You know I love me some gizmos, so don’t get me wrong. This song is a poke with a wink and nod to the technology I embrace and create with. Sometimes it feels like a distraction though. Other tunes of mine had a darker ring to this idea of access but disconnection. Sensing a theme?

Anyway. I do tend to repeat myself. But I never say the same thing twice.

  • City Life – this weeks download

    Murmuration_CityLife

So here is this weeks download. City Life.

I also decided to give each song a little flair with some individual art work for each song.  What do you think? If anyone is inspired to create their own album art for this or any of the other songs please post it!
